Happy New Year 2012 to all.

Year of the Dragon. Transcend the Ego and find the spirituality within... That sounds great with all the ideas about changes occuring this year. I believe those changes will help everyone, even if you are uncomfortable for awhile, you are on your way to a better place, and learning to adjust to the shifting energy. I am hopeful for a shift to more love and compassion for one another - just in time for Valentine's Day?

I just got home a week ago after a much needed vacation with my wonderful husband. It's been such a fun week seeing returning faces and catching up with friends who visit the shop! I also just got 3 awesome orders placed today so the shelves will be showing off some new items for V-day, lots of pink and red, and St. Patty's day too... lots of Green and Greenman items coming soon! :) (Reorders for books and essential oils will be submitted by Friday.)

I also wanted to say..... Thank you ALL for supporting us at Holistic Journey in our first year, 2011! It was truly incredible. We are grateful for being able to be a part of Main Street, in a fun and supportive community. And, we are excited to bring more new offerings soon. Watch our schedule for new guest services and instructors teaching some fun and therapeutic classes!!

Happy Holidays from Holistic Journey!

As we end 2010, we often think of our accomplishments over the past 12 months and what 2011 may bring!

Consider how you use the law of attraction - attracting what you put your mental and emotional energy toward (thinking and visualizing has more power than many people give it credit for). I am reminded of The Secret, the teachings of Abraham-Hicks, and affirmations from Louis Hay saying "Prosperity thinking brings more prosperity", "Expressing gratitude brings more to be grateful for"...

Consider starting the new year off attracting positive thoughts and positive changes in your life.

First kiosk / booth event

There have been many firsts this year.

This week marks my first kiosk - at the Scott Air Force Base Exchange, Tuesday through Sunday the 24th. An amazing girlfriend was able to run it for me while I was working my daytime job through yesterday. Today we were asked to stay through November 1st!! How crazy-cool is that?

The interest and receptivity has just been wonderful. I've received some suggestions on products to look for also. Thanks to all for the support!

Welcome to my first blog! Here is the short version of my story that brought me to where I am now:

I was injured during Army Reserve training in late 2002. Nothing appeared to be 'wrong' besides chronic inflammation and I was given pain killers. My condition worsened over time. After years of researching what could be my 'issue', I was attracted to info on natural healing and ways to take better care of my body. I didn't know enough about what to buy and have always been skeptical. I was really interested and wanted to learn more, but I had made a plan to complete my bachelor's degree first. In March of 2006, a friend referred me to a chiropractor. This began the peeling of the onion, and a committment to improving my physical health. It really did get worse before it got better, and I mean several times. The idea for Holistic Journey was just a dream taking shape, as I was learning more and wanted to share it with others. Finally, I was diagnosed with a labral tear (cartilage around the hip joint) in November 2007 and had arthroscopic surgery January 2008.

In August of 2008, I knew having a shop was what I really wanted to do. To mark this time, I had my favorite symbol tattooed on my back (Yin-Yang), received an esoteric birth chart reading, and bought myself a Moldavite necklace (the gemstone that accelerates you onto your path/life purpose). With the ideas flowing, I began taking steps toward my future goal. I enrolled in AIHT (American Institute for Holistic Theology) for a Master's degree in Holistic Health (though it often goes on the back burner). In 2009, I changed jobs, got married, turned 30, sold a home for the first time (the second house I bought), and lived in temporary housing for four weeks while still looking for our next home. This was a trial, even for our dogs. We were so happy when we found this lovely old charmer.

The reality of "Holistic Journey" came in March 2010. Doing the planning for my first fair and festival in June, I selected some basic products and keep adding to list. In August, an inspiring Open house was followed and Pete gave up his office and we moveed the small shop room into the larger room off from the living room in our home. I am amazed and truly blessed by how much I've accomplished in seven months! I'm excited to say that events coming up in October and throughout November have the variety of products growing even more!
